'Tis the season for Sugar & Spice! I've been putting vanilla beans in my sugar bowl for years. But why not create a unique flavored sugar that gives a surprising depth to your home made treats.
Here's an easy way to gourmet your sugar cookies and so much more.....
Whirl approximately 1/4 cup of dried citrus with 1 cup of sugar (preferably organic) in a food processor or blender, until the rind is in tiny bits. Add any additional herbs or spices & whirl again. I put a dried ancho chili in with my orange sugar for a little sweet n spicy treat!
Store in an airtight jar. Like that pretty one you've been saving for just the right thing.
I'm ready for a little me time. I'll have some hot cocoa, sprinkled with my specialty sugar!
